TÜV SÜD AUTOMOTIVE AND YOGITECH ANNOUNCE A COLLABORATION TO ACCELERATE THE IEC61508 CERTIFICATION PROCESS FOR SAFETY-CRITICAL SYSTEMS

More and more components providers are targeting IEC61508 certification for next generation MCUs for safety-critical applications.

Munich/Pisa, Germany/Italia - TÜV SÜD Automotive and YOGITECH have entered into an agreement to simplify the IEC61508 certification process for safety-critical systems.

TÜV SÜD Automotive and YOGITECH have set a working procedure addressing the need of Silicon Vendors to speed up the certification process while reducing the overall certification cost and complexity associated: by processing input information of the circuit under assessment at different abstraction levels (block diagram, RTL, Gate Level, Layout), while including at the same time also information related to application/system level, fRMethodology by YOGITECH generates standard reports that are then assessed by TÜV SÜD Automotive in order to release Concept Report and Certification. The overall working procedure provides traceable, quantifiable and comparable metrics, thus considerably reducing subjectivity in the certification process and making all of the certification flow more predictable.
